Howard Galloway-Activist Filmmaker with an Attitude

I’ve been on the road for three weeks now with the American Liberty Tour, producing a video documentary chronicling the guest speakers and enthusiastic patriots brought together across our nation under the leadership of Eric Odom’s American Liberty Alliance.

These sponsors are Americans committed to preserving our traditional values secured under our Constitution of the United States of America.

The heart and soul of this tour is the enduring attention and loyalty of the American people who cheer us on from city to city. The anonymous voices of unknown patriots speaking from the heart, the mothers and fathers, some homeless in Nashville without TV sets, yet still aware that something out of character is brewing and festering like poison in our political bloodstream, aware that we are at ominous crossroads in the time line of history.

This is a great opportunity for me to witness, listen quietly, and record the voice of the American people in our search for solutions, and to seek honest ears in positions of power who will listen to our voices with the reverence We The People have earned through sacrifice.

What a whirlwind of voices ringing down the highways of America! I’ve  recorded their voices in eye-to-eye conversations. Their messages to Washington are succinctly inscribed on poster board signs at rallies from Sacramento to Tallahassee. My trek will end when I turn my truck around after Ft. Lauderdale to head west, completing my round trip back to Pine Mountain, California in the Los Padres National Forest. Shooting interviews will continue as I head west.

When I point my video camera at them, they smile and proudly hold up their signs. People just want to be heard and counted, and not be treated as if their voice has no credibility.  We the People are sending a message that We will be heard, and now is the time and every place is the place. The American Liberty Tour is not only our rag tag bunch of crusading vagabonds, but also includes every welcoming spirit along the way who share our goals and would gladly jump aboard our RVs and pickup truck to join us in our Paul Revere ride across the nation. In Loveland, Colorado a kind lady rushed home and brought us back homemade pies as a thank you. (That was was the best peach raspberry pie I ever ate.) In Commerce, Texas, during a local hometown celebration under a blazing sun, a lady at a church booth gave me a much needed ice cold bottle of water. She spoke of her father who loved his country so much and who faithfully served during World War 11.

But the Liberty Tour is more than a futile cry in the night, it is action, the next step up in our quest to protect and preserve our many freedoms. Our brothers in the American Majority are actively carrying out that action through their workshops across the country to pry complaining people off their soft couches and into the political trenches to pick up and carry out our responsibility to “get ‘er done.”  It’s inspiring to know that there can be a plan of action and not just ranting at the TV set. The challenge is here and the challenge must be met.  We either face the challenge by accepting the responsibility and get actively involved according to our talents. Or we pass on this and lose the opportunity to make a constructive difference.  American Majority’s plan is a methodical, calm, and a well planned out blueprint for using today’s new media as a tool of communication in getting involved in grassroots politics and winning elections. Ned Ryun’s Director of New Media Strategies  is Austin James. Their plan boils down to high tech networking,  getting people acquainted with like-minded aims who can work together to win elections. Ned and Drew Ryun’s workshops are filled with people who are committed to taking the next step off their couch and into their community, armed with enthusiasm and skills. I interviewed several accomplished alums in their 20s and 30s. One lady is a 26-year-old new mother who recently unseated a 14-year school board incumbent. Another lady, a former Navy diver in Fayettville, Arkansas, is proactive in affecting the outcome of local issues and elections.

Yes it can be done. You just have to exercise your right and ambition to do it.  Don’t wait for the other activist to do it.  That activist may represent the demise of our America.

God Bless and Lead America.
